Compared to the idyllic weather for the BBQ last year, the conditions couldn’t have been more different for this year’s BBQ. As a result of the persistent rain, and the threat of the River Avon bursting its banks, we were forced into the barn. However, the rain wasn’t able to dampen the occasion, and everyone spent a very pleasant evening drinking the odd bottle of beer and sampling the excellent food on offer.
At one point, the smoke from the barbeque made things a bit hazy, and the swallows nesting in the barn roof started to complain, but proper ventilation was soon restored.
Thanks to Mark for hosting the barbeque once again, to Nigel for arranging it and collecting the money, and to everyone who prepared the food. The above photos have been added to the AVAS Flickr site.
