Following on from a previous post announcing the first few lectures, the full programme for the AVAS Winter meetings can be confirmed, as shown below:

2011

Sept. 7th: West Kennet Long Barrow: Landscape, the Shamens and the Cosmos – ( title of new book)

Oct. 5th: The Swash Channel Wreck
Speaker: Paola Palma BA, MA, MIFA, FLS, Programme Coordinator MSc Maritime Archaeology Bournemouth University

Nov. 2nd: The Leper Hospital at Magdalen Hill, Winchester
Speaker: Dr Simon Roffey BA(Hons), MRes, PhD, Senior Lecturer in Archaeology, University of Winchester

Dec. 7th: The Parkers of Heytesbury
Speaker: Dr Paul Everill MIFA, FHEA, Lecturer in Applied Archaeological Techniques, University of Winchester

2012

Jan. 4th: Members` Evening ~ Reports, displays, presentations

Feb. 1st: From Whitsbury Castle to Rockbourne Villa, by way of Armsley; Iron Age and Roman in the Avon Valley
Speaker: David Allen, Senior Keeper of Archaeology Hampshire Museums & Archives Service

Mar 7th: `A Very Fair Field Indeed…` An Archaeology of Town Commons
Speaker: Mark Bowden, Senior Archaeological Investigator, National Monuments Record Office, and author

April 4th: The Salt Extraction Industry in the Lymington Area
Speaker: Frank Green, Archaeologist for the New Forest National Park

May 2nd Annual General Meeting (followed by members` presentations)
