This is the first post in the new AVAS blog. For those AVAS members unfamiliar with the term ‘blog’, here is a description and history. The blog is currently an experiment, in order to try out one of the most popular blog packages, WordPress.
It is hoped that the blog will allow useful information to be published quickly in a less formal environment than that provided by a traditional website. The idea is to promote member involvement through the use of interactive features such as comments. Members can also opt to subscribe to the blog, receiving email notification when new content is posted – see the sidebar.
It is also hoped that other members will be interested in posting information and photos – they will just need a logon to do this.
I have also set up an AVAS Flickr account which acts as a convenient repository for photos – see the Flickr section in the sidebar.
Let me know what you think. Mike.
